New York Life’s primary distribution channel is the career Agency sales force of more than 12,000 agents, operating in virtually every major city in the United States.  Every agent is affiliated with one of our 117 General Offices. These offices are operated by Agency management teams responsible for agent and management recruiting, development, and sales.  Approximately half our agents operate their businesses out of our General Offices, while the other half maintains independent office locations.


Our General Offices are divided up among four Zones. In addition to our Zone offices, an Agency Home Office team responsible for strategy, finance, administration, standards, training, marketing and communications supports our agents and field managers.  The Agency operation also comprises teams charged with growing our business in key market segments, including the middle income market, the advanced (high-net-worth) market, select cultural markets, and the women’s markets. Agents sell individual life insurance, individual annuities, and long-term care insurance products, as well as mutual funds


Senior Business Consultant—Stable Value Investment Only(SVIO)


Summary of Responsibilities

Stable Value Investment Only Team(SVIO) “Sr. Business Consultant” role to provide expertise in Market & Product Analysis and Sales Support to assist the National Director(ND) in developing key business metrics to drive sales strategy, sales growth and client retention.

Specific Areas of Focus

Market & Product Analysis:

Assist in creating maximum business value of NYL Products within existing and new markets
Explore, research and recommend alternative sales distribution channels, including new CIT Trustee relationships in partnership with our Product Mgt and Risk Mgt. Teams
Lead Product enhancement recommendations which include assessing NYL features/contract terms vs. market competitors in partnership with our Product Mgt. and Risk Mgt. Teams
Lead creation of subject matter for Thought Leadership and White Papers in partnership with our Marketing Team
Build and manage reporting process to ensure NYL Product information and performance data are provided to all Intermediary databases(eg- Morningstar, Hueler, Evestment, Evesnet, Mesirow, etc.)
Build and manage Tools to be used by Intermediaries to assist them in managing their Retirement Practice(eg Navigator) in partnership with our Marketing Team
Identify and research sales opportunities for NYL solutions in alternative markets like 529 and HSA in partnership with our Product Mgt and Risk Mgt. Teams
Create and maintain Competitor Library to assist both our FA/Consultant and Platform strategies in driving sales
Create meaningful business metrics to assist the ND in developing market strategy and sales execution plans

Client Service & Sales Support

Provide analytical and product expertise to support Sales Director’s(SD’s) at different points in the sales cycle
Provide “Home Office” coverage of Investment Analyst Teams to support both our FA/Consultant and Platform strategies
Support Key Accounts Manager in our retention efforts of Top 20 IO clients which represent approximately $12.5MM in annual revenue
Establish trust and credibility with both Internal partners and key external influencers, including FA’s/Consultants


4+ years of related experience
College Degree
Strong business acumen

Life & Health Insurance licenses or ability to obtain within first 90 days
