METRO RAIL. It is on the DMV Metro System’s Blue and Yellow Line. In fact, it is two stops from Reagan National Airport since the office and nearby hotels are walking distance from the King Street Metro Station.

AMTRAK AND VRE. It is on the King Street Amtrak and VRE lines. On Amtrak, the station is Alexandria, Virginia’s Union Station. Again, this is a block from the SVIA office.

UNION STATION. It is a 20-minute Lyft or Uber ride from Union Station or you can jump on the Metro (Red Line to Shady Grove) and transfer at Gallery Place to the Yellow Line going to Huntington or Metro Center to the Blue Line going to Franconia/Springfield. For the Blue or Yellow Lines, the King Street stop is the destination. By Metro, it is roughly 45 minutes once you catch the Metro train. Trains are running every thirty minutes.

REAGAN NATIONAL AIRPORT. It is a 15 minute Lyft or Uber ride from Reagan, and, it is two stops on the Yellow or Blue Lines to the King Street Station. By Metro, it is a 5 minute ride. Trains are running every thirty minutes.

BWI and IAD AIRPORTS. It is roughly an hour’s drive away. However, Uber and Lyft have increased prices substantially, which may make flights to/from these airports less economical and thus undesirable.

DRIVING. The office and recommended hotels are directly off of I395 and I495. Parking rates vary by hotel from $35 to $50 a night.

Yes, all in-person attendees must provide proof of vaccination, or a negative COVID-19 test within five days of the event and are required to sign the SVIA’s COVID-19 Safety Acknowledgement Form.

SVIA adheres to the Commonwealth of Virginia’s guidelines well as the CDC’s guidelines for in-person events. At this time, Virginia no longer requires face masks to be worn. However, SVIA cannot guarantee that participants in attendance will not become infected with COVID-19.

It means:

  • Masks are now optional for in-person attendance,
  • Face masks are not required when eating or drinking.

Virginia no longer requires that face masks be worn for in-person events. However, most companies still require employees, and some employees elect to wear face masks. All surfaces are regularly cleaned and sanitized to prevent the spread of COVID. Touch points have been minimized upon check-in and during your stay. Check in is at 4 p.m. and check out is noon.

For those who may drive and require parking, please check directly with the hotel since parking and valet services have been impacted by the pandemic.

SVIA’s release form, which is a requirement for in-person attendance requires anyone who becomes symptomatic and/or confirms that he or she has contracted COVID to notify SVIA immediately at events@stablevalue.org. Should this happen, SVIA will alert all attendees of exposure to COVID.

Further, SVIA is collaborating with the Embassy Suites, to facilitate contact tracing and notification, should other guests in the hotel report COVID illnesses.

If you receive a notification, it means that someone that you were near tested positive for COVID-19 and chose to privately share their diagnosis. The notification will allow you to take action to protect yourself and those around you, like getting tested, seeking medical attention, quarantining, etc.
